Solid blasting - solid blasting is a new approach blasting system by eliminating a cutting methodology for generating free face. In this type of blasting cutting is not required, and a dynamic free face is generated by using advance drilling pattern as well by using permitted explosives .(Wedge Cut & P-5 Explosive) holes are drilled at 45 to 60 degree.
Ventilation at solid blasting face should not less then 284 cum./min.
In solid blasting three type of holes are responsible for dynamic free face by using sufficient delay .
Cut Holes or Sump Holes- These are centre holes as well first hole which blast first during blasting and create free face for new holes.
Eassers holes- These are secondary hole which blasts after sump holes and advancing the pull .
3. Trimmer holes- These are boundary holes at face who are responsible for perfect shape of blasting .
Indirect initiation system- when the dealing end of detonator is facing the back of the hole, the blasting of such hole is known as indirect initiation.
In the hole
(Primary cartridge > secondary cartridge > stemming cartridge)
Why indirect initiation in solid blasting -
As we know direct initiation is more convenient for output as well safer to operate , but in solid blasting we using indirect initiation because of its vide range adaptability of generating dynamic free face.
