1. UNSAFE ACTS
Unsafe Act can be defined as any activity by workers which are not prescribed safety standard or practice and which can cause or likely to cause accidents or risk for self or others at workplace, damage equipment's and bring losses in terms of reputations and revenue to employer.
# Examples of UNSAFE ACTS :-
Using unsafe equipment
Start machine without warning
Operate at unsafe speed
Safety devices are inoperative
Cleaning belt conveyor during running time
Working under unsupported roof
Crossing a fence
Travelling along haulage roadway
Personal protecting equipment's are non operating
Done Blasting without having safe cover
2. UNSAFE CONDITIONS
Any condition or situation (electrical, chemical, biological, physical, mechanical and environmental) which increases the risks and dangers of accidents can be called as unsafe conditions.
# Examples of UNSAFE CONDITIONS :-
Fault in machine design
Weak, Defective, Damaged equipment
Unsafe method of work
Protective devices are not available
Unguarded moving parts of belt, machine
Absence of support
Unsafe natural conditions (dark working place, weak roof, steep roadway)
Inadequate ventilation
Inadequate lighting
Poor housekeeping (slippery floor)
3. NEAR MISS
It is defined as an unplanned event that does not result in personal injury but may result in property damage.
4. ACCIDENT
It is defined as an unplanned event that results in personal injury or property damage.
