Ignition temperature & Lag on ignition

•Ignition temperature:-

The minimum/lowest temperature at which any substance or gas starts to burn.

Ignition temp.of methane is usually b/w 650°c to 750°c.

[किसी भी पदार्थ या गैस का वह न्यूनतम तापमान जिसमें वह जलना प्रारंभ करता है, Ignition temperature कहलाता है।]

•Lag on ignition:-

It's a time interval b/w the exposure of gas to an igniting source To the appreance of the flame.

[ किसी गैस या पदार्थ को आग (source of ignition) के संपर्क में आने के बाद आग पकड़ने में जितना समय लगा, उसे Lag on ignitionकहते हैं।]

Lag on ignition is inversely proportional to the temperature.

Lag on ignition of methane:-
