Composition of Atmospheric Air :

Exposure LIMITS -
Threshold limit values (TLV):
It is the maximum/minimum concentration of constituent of air to which a person can be exposed (No adverse effect on the person's health and safety).
Time weighted average (TWA):
Average concentration to which all workers may be exposed over in 8 hours shift and work hour week (generally considered as TLV).
Short term exposure limit (STEL):
TWA concentration occurring over a period of not more than 15 minutes.
Concentration TWA to STEL should not last longer then 15 minute (the daily TLV-TWA is not exceeded).
Ceiling limit (CL):
It is the concentration that should not be exceeded at any point of time (used for most toxic gases or substances).
